Something Random, Something New
So I was looking at these icons and I noticed something (besides the spoilers, but we can forgive that for the UNDENIABLE ROYAI, yes?).
Roy and Riza have both been through hell at least twice each in this current arc/climax. Roy especially has gotten his ass handed to him, what with seeing Riza nearly die, getting "crucified" by Bradley, and, oh yeah, goodbye eyesight. And yet, he's relatively unscathed. His uniform still looks good and pretty and only his gloves are actually bloody.
Dearest Riza, on the other hand, is going to need a new outfit when this day is done. She's got blood everywhere, tears in her clothes, and the poor thing is on her last legs, due to blood loss and overall exhaustion. So I find it interesting that the one person Roy really wants to protect more than anyone is the one who is out in the heat of battle and taking Roy's hits for him.
It's just...right now, I see her as the loyal guard dog who would take everything the attacker had for its master, and while that may sound demeaning toward Riza, that is how she lives. She would give her last breath (and then some) if it meant Roy could win and live.
Yeah, I'm weird. Just seeing her all bloodied up and still kicking ass is what makes me love her so much, even if she is losing steam. She's my girl.
